Bronchitis Solutions – The Facts About Medical Treatments
Bronchitis Lung is an acute inflammation of the air passages within the lungs. It happens when the trachea (windpipe) and the large and small bronchi (airways) within the lungs become inflamed because of infection or other causes.
The condition includes the below mentioned complications:
1.The thin mucous lining of these airways can become snapy and inflamed.
2.The cells that make up this lining may leak fluids as a result of the inflammation.
3.Coughing is a reflex that works to evict secretions from the lungs. Often the uneasiness of a severe cough leads you to resort to medical treatment.
4.Both elders and children can get bronchitis.
5.Symptoms are same for both.
6.Children usually get bronchiolitis, which involves the smaller airways and causes symptoms similar to asthma.
Symptoms include:
1.Coughing up extra mucus, sometimes with blood
2.Wheezing
3.Difficulty in breathing
4.Runny nose
More specifically, it may refer to:
Acute bronchitis, caused by viruses or bacteria and lasting several days or weeks
Chronic bronchitis, a persistent, productive cough lasting at least three months in two consecutive years.
Causes:
Chronic bronchitis can be caused by cigarette smoke. Acute bronchitis is often a symptom of the common cold.
In bronchitis, the membranes lining the larger air passages (bronchi) become swollen and disproportionate amount of mucus is produced. The person with bronchitis develops a bad cough to remove the mucus. Sometimes it can lead to pneumonia.Airflow into and out of the lungs is partly blocked because of the swelling and extra mucus in the bronchi.
