Microdermabrasion Acne Procedures and How They Work
Acne is a condition that many of us deal with particularly as teenagers. But it is important to note that many of the people who suffer from acne are actually adults. The most common place to experience acne is on the face although it can be found all over the body. The effects of acne can cause the skin on your face to be unsightly, but with microdermabrasion acne treatments you can counteract the effects that acne has taken on your skin.
Microdermabrasion acne treatments help to restore the damage caused to the skin by various conditions. Acne is only one of the conditions that may affect the skin, others include over exposure to the sun and pollution and other damaging agents.
This non-abrasive technique works by using a microcrystal spray that is designed to remove the outermost layer of the skin. Many time acne will leave permanent marks on the facial skin. This damage is usually contained to the top layers of skin.
The intent of microdermabrasion is to scrub and remove the top layers of skin that contain the damage. This type of procedure has elements that encourage new skin to grow where the layers have been removed. Elastin and collagen are among the elements that make your skin rejuvinate itself after it has been poked or pinched. Since this treatment causes elastin to react, the skin on the face does this same thing. By activating the elastin, the skin is encouraged to return to its natural state, that may help it regain the beauty lost from the damage caused by acne.
While there are many invasive procedures, microdermabrasion is completely non-invasive. The invasive acne treatments are things like skin resurfacing, laser skin resurfacing, and chemical peels. While these methods have been proven to give positive results, it is important to note that they take more time and cost more.
You can get positive results with microdermabrasion acne procedures and it’s various methods. On popular method that has been used for years is called crystal microdermabrasion. Tiny crystals are used with crystal microdermabrasion to exfoliate the skin. The crystals are blasted using high amounts of pressure in a small area.
Another type of microdermabrasion uses a diamond tipped wand to clear the negative affects of acne. These wands are designed to glide over the skin to produce smooth results. This method is a newer method than the crystal method and is believed to provide a superior way to restore the original condition of the skin.
Regardless of which procedure is used, microdermabrasion acne methods may restore the skin from the negative effects that are often caused as a result of acne. You do not have to have surgery to get your original skin condition back, and you will usually see results in just a few short sessions. Before using any procedure it is a good idea to consult a physician or dermatologist.
